Learner Management

Learners log in to a web-based training database before they can take the training. The database tracks learner progress by recording each attempt at an end-of-module quiz. When a learner successfully completes a quiz, the module is considered complete for that learner.

When learners log in, they are presented with a list of modules they have completed and a list of modules they have not yet completed. They can select a module from either list and complete the training for that module.

Tracking learner progress allows managers to determine the skills and knowledge that can be expected from each learner. Managers will be able to determine which modules have been completed by each learner and how successfully the learner completed each module.

    Learner Management Strategies

One of the key advantages of web-based training is the advanced learner management capability. Web-based training tracks and stores certain information about learners as they complete modules of training. Managers, supervisors and learners can use this information to ensure the effectiveness of the training.

CEIS Web-based training tracks and stores the following information for each user:

  • registration information (as entered at user registration)
  • modules completed successfully
  • number of attempts to complete each module
  • questions answered incorrectly for each attempt

A manager or supervisor is provided with a higher access level that allows the manager to view this information for all users in the manager's region or location. The manager and leaner can then use this information to enhance learning.
